- (i) Being able to top-rope belay and (ii) Comfortably able to climb >=5.9 grade at any of the indoor climbing gyms
This is the 2nd part of a 2-day "Learn to Lead" climbing series! The goal is to lower the barrier for folks who know how to top-rope to learn to lead climb safely in a gym. This trip is a day of outdoor climbing at Rumney, where we'll practice mock lead climbing and belaying on real climbs.

Requirements:
- Know how to TR belay
- Are attending the TRS
- Own harness, climbing shoes
- Do not already know how to lead climb
- Preferably own assisted belay device (Megajul/Grigri etc.), but MITOC has Grigri’s available to rent
Will be provided / can rent from MITOC:
- Helmet
- quickdraws
- ropes
Tentative schedule:
- 7am - Leave Boston
- 9am - meet in Rumney parking lot
- 9am - 3pm - Climb!
- 3:30pm - Leave Rumney
- 5:30pm - Back to Boston
