Prerequisites
Good physical fitness

We'll climb North Kinsman. The trip is 8.2 miles with 2493 ft of elevation gain via the Fishin' Jimmy Trail. The goal is to have fun and to get some experience in winter conditions. Whether or not we reach the North Kinsman summit we'll stop by the Lonesome Lake Hut and have some snacks!

The peak is forested, but there are good views of Lafayette and Lincoln across Franconia Notch along the way. In addition, the Kinsman/Fishin' Jimmy route lies along the Appalachian Trail, which is cool.

You will need basic winter hiking gear and microspikes. The trail does not require extensive winter-hiking experience, but is fairly physically strenuous. This is a good first winter hike for anyone who is in good shape.

This trip is "beards encouraged."
