- Prerequisites
- 1. Ice climbing experience OR winter outdoor experience + outdoor rock climbing experience; 2. Solid belaying skills with an ATC
We are going to the Flume gorge in Franconia Notch. It'll be a top-roping trip (leading is possible if desired) not requiring prior ice climbing experience. However, the climbs are mostly vertical, therefore unless you're a rock climber it may not be a great destination for the first ice climbing experience. Prior experience with crampons is also desirable as the approach to the gorge already requires their use.
(The prerequisites will be enforced, "experience" means more than having done something once; please ask the trip leaders if in doubt)
