- Recent above treeline experience on a MITOC trip, proficiency with crampons, strong physical fitness
Join Colin, Ian, Alex, and Cole on a long and very strenuous hike up Mount Washington. We'll most likely be leapfrogging with the other group going up Mount Washington via the same trail. Come with jokes to tell and snacks to share for the other group!
We'll hike up the Ammonoosuc ravine trail to the Lake of the Clouds Hut and then take the Crawford Path to the summit of Washington. Moving safely above treeline is highly dependent on weather so we may turn around early if the conditions are not favorable.
The total distance will be about 8.2 miles, with 3 miles total above tree line. Recent above tree line experience, a good system for full face cover, crampon experience, and strong physical fitness required.
