- At least moderate physical fitness; familiarity with XC skiing (no need to own your own gear, but should have XC skied at least once before); tolerance of canine allergens; enthusiasm!
There will be snow on the ground. It will be cold. There will be an adorable pupper in goggles.
We'll be making our way to the Hancocks, embarking on a 9-10 mile trip with 2293' of elevation gain. Current forecasts (https://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/Mount-Hancock-New-Hampshire/forecasts/1335) very low summit windchill temperatures and moderate winds. We will attempt to cross-country ski our way to the mountain approach and snowshoe our way to the summit, potentially tagging Mount Hancock, Mount Hancock-Middle Peak, and South Hancock (if time and trail conditions allow).
