Join us for a day trip to the Franconia ridge
We will cover 8.4 miles and 3800 feet of elevation gain.
This will be a skills building trip, so if you haven't been above treeline yet, we will teach you what you need to do so safely. We will also try to find a slope to practice self arrest.
Note: The forecast for Sunday is not very good and also rapidly changing. If conditions are bad we might not be able to safely summit Lincoln and Lafayette. In that case we will get to Little Haystack and hang around above treeline for as long as we are all warm and happy to practice our layering and above treeline navigation skills. If driving conditions are really bad, and it seems unwise to drive up, we will cancel.

What's your winter hiking experience? Have you used microspikes or crampons before?
