Get to know your fellow MITOCers on an adventure to South & North Kinsman this weekend! There will be a lovely lake, a pretty pond, a handsome hut, and great views of Franconia Ridge from the summits.

We'll start at Lafayette Campground and hike 1.2 miles to the Lonesome Lake Hut. The hut provides a great place to cozy up and make gear changes if necessary before continuing 2.5 miles farther to summit North Kinsman (4293'). If we're feeling good and time allows, we'll continue (0.8mi) to the summit of South Kinsman where we can get a great view of Franconia Notch. Then we'll turn around and head back to the Hut before returning to the trailhead. The total distance is 8.8 miles with 2,500 feet of elevation gain.

Extended 3-Season winter hiking experience, interested in trying winter hiking, OR, basic experience winter hiking. It will be very cold!
