Do you enjoy feminism? Hiking? Hot chocolate? Working toward inclusivity in the outdoors?

If so, join us on Sunday to hike up Mount Field and glissade/sled down Mount Avalon! We want to encourage and support female-identifying folks in the outdoors, especially if you are new to winter hiking. Expect laughter and positivity on the trail, and time to chat over group dinner afterward.

PLEASE NOTE: We welcome all genders and sexes on this hike, but the two main focuses of this hike are to facilitate discussions about gender in the outdoor community, and to create a supportive and safe space for MITOC women. If you’re not interested in such conversations, we would love if you can save the spot for someone who will.

To spark our trail conversations, we have suggested listening for our hike! Episode 73 of the “She Explores” podcast is a hilarious and inspiring hour in which runner Mirna Valerio discusses her experience claiming her space in the outdoors. We would love for participants to have a listen before the hike, if you happen to have time!

We plan to leave Boston at 6am (unless you’re already staying at one of the cabins Saturday night). This is a day trip that will carpool from and return to Boston, stopping for dinner together as a group after the hike.
