Come improve your photography skills! We'll head to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island (a barrier island just north of Boston). It's close by, so we'll plan to arrive around sunrise so we can get some pictures of the sun rising over the ocean. There are various trails around the beach, dunes, and salt marsh areas, so hopefully we'll be able to spot some interesting birds and other wildlife.

You can practice using your camera's manual settings, test out different systems for carrying your camera and gear while hiking, and get feedback on your shots from each other and your leaders. Not only will you get to enjoy a day full of fresh air and great views, but you'll come home with some great shots to remember it by!

We'll head to a cafe/restaurant at the end of the day for a debrief and photo share. Feel free to bring along a laptop if you're interested in sharing photos with the group or getting some editing advice.

This is aimed towards people with a DSLR or other digital camera system who want to learn more about manual settings, outdoor photography and composition. Remember we may spend a lot of time staying still to get the perfect shot, so dress in warm layers!
