Due to the icy conditions we have decided to switch the hike up a bit, changing it to roughy a Mt. Tom, Field and Avalon route. We will meet at AMC Highland Center early Sunday morning. Exact time is TBD on Thursday but if you're leaving Boston I'd say plan for at least a ~5:30 - 6am departure time.

Short trip description: We'll head up the Avalon Trail to Avalon, which is on the "52 with a view" list, and then continue on to Field, which has decent views. From there we can head along the Willey Range Trail towards Mount Tom. After Tom we'll head down the A-Z Trail to meet the Avalon Trail and then back to the car. Doing just Avalon would be under 4 miles, Avalon and Field would be about 6, adding Tom would get us to 7.2.
