Time for an adventure, bridges, and pancakes! Come join Maike and Katherine as we explore the Great Gulf Wilderness, a gorgeous and isolated valley surrounded by the grand sights of Mt Washington and the northern presidential range. The trail will take us along a river and as we walk we will keep an eye out for an opportunity to stop and build a woodcraft bridge out of logs and ropes that can allow safe passage across the water. Our path will wander up, up, up, as we attempt to break tree line on the shoulder of Mt. Madison. We'll make some pancakes too!

This trip will call upon many of your winter skills: hard physical labor (we'll be carrying big logs around to build our bridge), above tree line exposure, trail breaking, and a fair bit of standing around in the cold. You should be in good physical condition and comfortable navigating steep winter terrain. Our plan is to have the group leave from Boston on Saturday and spend the night at one of the MITOC cabins so we can get an early start on Sunday. Please email us if you have questions. It's going to be a beautiful day.

Trip stats: 9+ miles, 3000+ ft, 1 bridge, many pancakes
