Congratulations on making it through your first round of practicals! You've already encountered a lot of new knots and rigging skills for climbing outdoors, and you'll need more in the coming practicals -- this is an optional TRS on the core knots you'll need for climbing outdoors, up to and including multipitch rock. Knowing these is highly encouraged for anyone in either track of SOR.
We'll get a chance to practice knots for tying in/creating a loop, joining lines, connecting to anchors, rigging with slings, and safety situations. We'll also discuss some of the "how" and "why" of knots, and why we choose the knots we do for climbing.
Where: MITOC Office, 4th floor of the student center
When: Thursday, September 21, 7-9(ish) PM
What to bring: harness, locking carabiners. If you have them: sling and prusik cord (if you want to pick one up beforehand: get 5 feet of 5mm cord cut at REI)
