Lead a trip for incoming grad students: If you're a 3-season hiking leader, we need your help to lead hikes on the Graduate Student Council (GSC) hiking trip on Saturday, Sep 2.
Every fall MITOC and the GSC organize a hiking trip as part of the orientation week for incoming grad students. The GSC charters two buses; one goes to Franconia, the other to Ferncroft. We split into groups of ~8, hike, and the leaders (this would be you) lead an easy-medium 6-8h hike.
This signup is for the 16 leaders we need to run this trip. Your responsibilities would be to lead a hike and be back to the bus by 6. You don't have to be a grad student, be MIT-affiliated, or have experience organizing large trips. MITOC and the GSC are organizing trip signups, transportation, food, emails, and all other logistics. We'll plan the hiking routes and turnaround times, and provide free breakfast and dinner for leaders. Plus you get ta t-shirt! We just need you to hop on the bus, lead a hike when you get to the trailhead, and be back on time :)
