Prerequisites
Previous winter hiking experience. Insatiable desire to go sledding.

Come join us on a sledding adventure! We’ll hike 4.6 miles to the summit of South Peak, which affords excellent views up to Moosilauke, into Vermont, and to many other spots of the White Mountains. Then, we’ll make our glorious 2400 ft descent back down the mountain.

We’ll ascend and descend down the Carriage Road trail, which was built in the mid 1800s. The trail is very spacious, and is one the most popular sledding trails in the White Mountains. Hopefully the conditions will be good and we’ll be able to travel at high speeds! Be prepared for some fun speeding down the mountain, or if we lack sufficient snow, to walk 4.6 miles back to the car.

We will plan on gathering and spending the night at Camelot and getting an alpine start (leaving early Monday morning).
