Warm gear and ENTHUSIASM!

This is going to be such a chill hike! (Literally and figuratively.) We're going to take a leisurely jaunt to Lonesome Lake, where will we make some awesome trail-latkes*, which we will eat.

We should have plenty of time to take a nice walk around the lake, warm up in the hut (since the weather is supposed to be pretty frigid), drink some hot cocoa, maybe even make a snowman or play a board game. We will be so chill. We will then sled down the trail, to avoid too much actual hiking :)

The hike itself is 3-4 miles via the Lonesome Lake Trail, with 1000' of elevation gain. If folks are still feeling under-exercised, we can do sprints across the lake, try building a snow shelter in which to to eat our latkes, or have a vigorous snowball fight - you can even bring your ice skates!

The weather forecast for the weekend is in the single-digits even without windchill, so please make sure you have lots of warm gear. This is a good, easy hike to practice new winter skills and still get a taste of Extreme Winter Weather, and a chill hike for anyone who wants to have a fun and silly time! (We can also try out any other skills folks are excited about learning.)

Bring your favorite latke toppings, or get in touch if there's something else you'd like to try cooking up.
