10 miles, 2900 ft. elevation.
The weather forecast looks pretty vicious on Saturday. Join us if you'd like to go on a medium length hike that still gets you a chance to go above treeline at a much lower elevation than the Presidentials. We'll take Nickerson Ledge and Carter Ledge trails to treeline at the 3 sisters. If the weather is amenable, we'll proceed to Chocorua. If not, we'll get back below treeline and head down. Either way we'll take Piper trail back down to the parking lot to make a loop of it.
Be prepared with full coverage for above-treeline travel: goggles, balaclava, and warm mittens. Additional required gear will be an ice axe and crampons. Let any of the leaders know if you have any questions.
