Join us this Saturday for an epic adventure to Mt. Zealand and the Bonds! Deep in the heart of the Pemigewasset Wilderness, these peaks offer arguably some of the best views in the White Mountains. One of the highlights is the ridgeline between Mt. Bond and Bondcliff, with sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness!
This will be a big day and the full route is 19 miles with 5200ft of elevation gain. You can check the route here
Pre-reqs
This will be an active and strenuous day. We’ll aim for a steady pace with limited and short breaks to stay on schedule.
We recommend that participants have recent experience with hikes in the 15 mile range. If you’re unsure whether this trip is a good fit, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to chat and help you decide!
Logistics
We’ll have a required pre-trip meeting on Thursday at 6pm over zoom to go over plans. Before the meeting, we’ll send out a few short forms—please complete them on time so we can finalize logistics smoothly.
On Saturday, we’ll leave Cambridge at 5:00 am and stop for breakfast along the way. Note that this is a day trip and not a circus trip!
Driving & Lottery
If you’re able to drive (your own car or a rental), please indicate this in your lottery preferences. Only sign up to drive if you can commit to the full round trip from the Boston/Cambridge area.
Costs
Expected costs include~$30–50 for shared transportation. We’ll split driving costs evenly using the MIT car cost calculator.
