Prerequisites
Physical fitness for a trip of this pace, length, and elevation gain ( >7 miles, >2000ft of elevation gain)

Join us for a hike to Mount Washington and Mount Monroe! That’s the tallest point in New Hampshire, in case you didn’t know. It will be a beautiful hike. We’ll be able to see how the vegetation changes as we go through different elevations, and we’ll be spending quite a bit of time above treeline. We’ll also stop in at an AMC hut up there for a quick break before we hike up Monroe!

The route is here. This will be a 9.5 mile hike with 4300ft of elevation gain. There will be some very steep and strenuous portions. We'll aim to be relatively efficient since it’s a lot of hiking. Also, don't be fooled by the title. Bring layers! It may be summer, but it'll be 50⁰F or less up there.

Prereqs

You should have done a hike in the mountains at least 7-8 miles long before. If you’re unsure whether this trip is a good fit, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to chat and help you decide!

Logistics

There will be a mandatory pre-trip video meeting this Thursday at 7PM.

This Sunday we’ll leave Cambridge at 6 AM. We’ll stop on the way up for a quick breakfast.
