Does spending your Sunday afternoon in a haunted pirate cave sound like a good time? Or are you looking for an excuse to get outside and eat a pastry? If so, come join us as we explore Lynn Woods Reservation.

We'll meet at the MIT Student Center at 10am Sunday, July 26 and drive about 30 minutes to Lynn Woods. We'll do an easy hike (3mi , 325 ft elevation), stopping at Dungeon Rock and Stone Tower along the way.

If there's time, we'll stop by Collette Bakery in Melrose for a sweet treat before heading back to campus. We should be back to campus by 2pm.

According to local legend, Dungeon Rock is where a pirate and his treasure were trapped during an earthquake in 1658. More than 200 years later, a treasure hunter spent his life searching for the lost treasure, claiming ghosts told him where it was hidden. We'll also stop by the Stone Tower, which should offer a great view of the Boston skyline.
