Have you ever wanted to deliver "trail magic" to AT hikers, and wanted to do more than grilling in a parking lot? Well now’s your chance to go over-the-top! We’ll be loading up with watermelons, chips, and other snacks to deliver a once-in-a-summer picnic on the summit of Mount Moosilauke.
This trip is also great for anyone who wants to get into backpacking but isn't confident about carrying a larger/heavier pack than usual. We will carry heavy packs on the way up, but hopefully we will be giving away a lot of food-weight before the hike down.
This hike will be ~11 miles with ~3,000’ of elevation change via Asquam Ridge Trail and Moosilauke Carriage Road. The main goal is to stay at the summit for an hour or two while handing out slices of watermelon. If the wind and/or timing is bad, we’ll setup below treeline.

Expect to leave from the Cambridge area at 6am, and budget for the $5 trip fee, necessary gear rentals, as well as shared carpooling gas costs ($30-50).
Pre-trip meeting details will be updated soon, likely Thursday evening over zoom.
We may open up a couple more spots if we get another driver, so please feel free to sign-up on the waitlist even if the hike is full.
