🏙️ Join us for an adventurous trail run along the Skyline trail at Blue Hills this Saturday. It'll be 70s, sunny, and beautiful (some of the best views you get around here)!

🏃‍♀️ We'll start from Hillside St. parking lot and do a 6 mile loop with options to extend or shorten based on participant interest! This will be consistently technical terrain with a decent amount of climbing (more so than the Skyline trail at the Fells). Be prepared for some fun scrambling!

After our Blue Hills adventure, we'll have some baked treats to celebrate!

First, we'll tackle the Great Blue Hill for some beautiful views.

Then we'll check out Buck Hill with an option to extend to Tucker Hill along the red dot trail.

Transportation

We'll plan to start running from the small parking area on Hillside St. (where the Skyline trail crosses) at 9:15am. For those joining the rideshare, we'll depart MIT at 8:30am.

We’ll try to facilitate transportation to/from Blue Hills – please indicate if you're willing to drive!

Prerequisites

This trip is aimed at folks with some experience running on trails and hiking on technical terrain. As a rough guideline, you should:

  • Be comfortable running 6+ miles on flat road at a 8-9 min/mi pace (e.g., have done such a run in the last 3 months)
  • Have done a hike with at least 2,000 ft of elevation gain in the last 6 months
  • Have comfortably done a trail run of >5 miles in the last year.

If you don't satisfy the prereqs, you're welcome to sign up anyways, but please email the leaders describing your recent running experience and fitness routine, so we can make sure this is the right trip for you.
