Do you want to meet fellow climbers within the MITOC community?
Are you sad that this month’s circus is limited in size and probably won’t have climbing?
Saturday July 18th - Sunday July 19th
Come with us on a climbing-only side-circus in Camelot! It’s a 10 min drive from Rumney, a great spot for sport climbing! The number of people we can take is heavily dependent on the number of full sport leaders/shadow leaders we can find. If you sign up as a full sport leader I will manually bump you off the lottery and into the trip directly. Shadow leaders will be bumped until we hit a 1:1 full leader to shadow leader ratio.
Requirements
You must be top-rope belay certified at an indoor gym. You must have a good idea of what grade you can confidently climb indoors. You must have a helmet, a harness, climbing shoes, and an assisted-braking belay device (e.g. grigri, jul, ATC pilot, but NOT a normal ATC). These can all be rented.
Itenerary
We will try to have a couple of small groups go to various crags at Rumney. Each group ideally has 2 full leaders but we may also get approval from climbing chairs for specific pairings of 1 full + 1 shadow.
Cost
$25 trip fee for non-students and $15 for students. Add $5 if you would like to sleep inside. Cost breakdown: $15 for food and $5 for Camelot stay with non-students subsidizing students $5. Full climbing leaders may waive the trip fee and shadow leaders get a $10 discount. Drivers get a $10 discount.
Saturday night dinner and Sunday breakfast will be provided.
