This ain't Texas, ain't no hold 'em, so lay your cards down, down, down, down and join us this Sunday for a hike up the Carters!
Route: a loop of around 12 miles and over 4600' of elevation gain, summiting several mountains in the Carter-Moriah range, including the 4000-footers Carter Dome, South Carter, and Middle Carter. Time permitting, we may also visit Imp Face, a cliff with spectacular views of the Northern Presidentials and Pinkham Notch, which would extend the route by around 2 miles/500'.
Logistics:
- Mandatory pre-trip Zoom meeting: Thursday at 7:00 PM
- Departure: Meet in Cambridge at 5:30 AM on Sunday
- Weather: High around 64°F with a chance of rain; please bring at least 3 liters of water
- Transportation: We need one additional car/driver for this trip. Please update your car status if you're able to drive others, including if you'd be willing to rent a car.
Prerequisites: This is a long, strenuous hike with significant elevation gain, and we plan to maintain a strong pace with minimal breaks. You should have experience hiking at least 10+ miles with 3000'+ of elevation gain recently in the White Mountains or similarly challenging terrain and have a strong fitness routine. To ensure that all participants can enjoy this hike, sign-up does not guarantee selection for the trip.
