This summer we'll run (mostly) weekly pond socials on Wednesday evenings! Come practice your flatwater moves, learn to roll your kayak, or just hang out and watch the sunset from a lake.

Everyone is welcome, whether you are an expert kayaker or have never been in a boat!

Logistics. Meet your driver by 6 PM (at least 3 people will need to meet at Porter square). We'll then drive to Mystic Lake, paddle until sunset (around 8:30), and return. Kayaks and gear will be provided. Bring a swimsuit / change of clothes!

Costs. $15 for kayak rental, if needed. MITOC offers generous fee waivers for anyone worried about these costs.

Boat sizes. Boat sizes are approximately by weight. If you are near the border, you can safely size down (for a more playful ride) or up (for a more stable one). Here's a rough guide:

  • S: 90 - 140 lbs
  • M: 140 - 185 lbs
  • L: 185 - 240 lbs
