🌥️ Join us for hopefully-not-too-muddy, maybe-even-slightly-sunny miles at Middlesex Fells and stick around for food and vibes!

🏃‍♀️ We’ll run about 4-7 miles, likely in a ~4mi group and a ~6-7mi group. Both will be no-drop runs, but we plan to run at a pace similar to 9-10 min/mi on the roads (likely 11-12 min/mi on the trails). We’ll meet at the Medford High lot/near the Mustang loop trailhead ready-to-run at 3:30pm! Routes will be shared closer to the trip.

🍕 After the run, we’ll hang out for some post-run food, courtesy of MITOC! There's a pavilion we can hang out under if it's damp.

Transportation

Please include your info on the Rideshare Sheet. We’ll try to facilitate transportation to/from the Fells but are sometimes car-limited!

A few notes:

  • If you don't need a ride, let us know on the Rideshare Sheet in the "arranging your own transportation" -- this helps us keep track of things
  • If you take up a car spot, please don't drop off night before/day of, since other people could have taken the car spot 🥀
  • Biking is often faster than driving! There are racks + a Blue Bike station at Medford High), run
  • Public transportation and Uber/Lyft are also an option

Prerequisites

This trip should have something for everyone! Trail runners of all experience levels are welcome (even if that experience level is none)! This can be a great first trail run, but you should be in good physical (i.e. cardio) shape and have some hiking experience. As a rough guideline, you should:

  • Be comfortable running 4+ miles on flat road at 9-10 min/mi (have done so in last 3 months)
  • Have done a hike with at least 1k ft elevation gain in the last 6 months

If you don’t satisfy the prereqs, you’re welcome to sign up anyways, but please email the leaders describing your recent running experience and fitness routine, so we can make sure this is the right trip for you!

What to bring

Make sure you bring the following:

  • Your phone
  • What you’ve worn in the past for running in similar conditions
  • Water (can be left in car)
  • Dry layers for post-run hang (optional, can be left in car)

If the trip shows as full, please add yourself to the waitlist as we may be able to adjust trip size! If you’re a leader and interested in joining as a leader, please sign up as a participant but email/Slack us.
