Take 2, hoping weather doesn't cancel our trip this time...
Is feeling regular-cold not cold enough for you? Do you have a lot of frustration you need to get out and smashing bullet-hard ice sounds like the perfect solution? Then this is the trip for you! Since there is already a beginner-focused ice trip this weekend, this one will be intermediate-focused (but honestly it doesn't matter; sign up if you want to come and we'll make it work for whatever your skillset is).
We'll be climbing right by the parking lot at Rumney, meaning a) if you get cold, the cars are very close by; and b) you can bask in the sun! There is a range of difficulties near the parking lot, from WI2-4+, so we'll put top ropes on whatever looks fun. Note that you will be standing around for >=50% of the time on ice trips, so you must have your don't-get-too-cold systems dialed.
Sign up if you: * Have experience climbing ice and know you like it * Can belay with a tubular style belay device (Like an ATC and not a gri-gri) * Have attended the winter safety lectures * Are comfortable with your layering system for single-digit fahrenheit temps
There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting this Thursday (time TBD) in the MITOC office where you can rent gear and we will talk through trip logistics.

- Notes
- Describe your top rope belaying experience, including which device(s) you are comfortable using.
- Have you ice climbed before? If so, when/where?
- Do you understand that you will be standing next to frozen ice in single-digit temps, and do you confirm that you have the layers + attitude to support such an endeavor?
