Join us for a combination ski and hike up the Hancock mountains! We'll cross-country ski in for about 3 miles, then stash our skis on the trail and hike up the two peaks. There's not much view at the summit but a good likelihood of seeing gray jays up close in their natural habitat! The hiking portion is about 3 miles, with some of the best butt-sledding in the White Mountains on the way down. Then we'll pick up our skis and ski back to the trailhead. The total trip is about 9 miles with 2500 ft of elevation gain, but with 6 miles of it on skis, you'll barely feel it. Come experience the magic of doing the long, flat part of a hike on skis. This trip is appropriate for people who have some prior experience with cross country skiing and winter hiking. It is a great trip for getting your first experience with backcountry XC skiing.
