Winter is a great time to hike Monadnock and skip the crowds, while still getting amazing 360-degree views from the bare summit. Monadnock is a great introduction to hiking above the tree line and the perfect place for beginners to try slightly harder/steeper terrain - due to the extremely cold nature of the weather this weekend, we are looking for folks that already have some winter hiking experience and are looking to test their colder weather systems. The trails are often icy, so we'll practice using traction in addition to layering.
The trip will be around 4-7 miles and 1800-2500' of elevation - exact trail TBD (dependent on interest in signups). Pretrip meeting is 6pm Thurs at MITOC office.
SIGN UP INSTRUCTIONS (since this is posted after lottery, oops):
- Put yourself on the waitlist
- This (Wed) evening, we'll honor the waitlist order, but only take folks that indicated that they are interested in the mileage that we end up deciding on (& make sure we have enough cars, since this is post-lottery)
