We'll be going to Mt. Wachusett on Saturday!
We'll be taking the Wachusett Mountain Loop, which runs for 6.2 mi and with 1.8k ft of elevation gain.
This trip will be
cold
The weather forecast predicts a temperature of -20F including wind chill (1F without). This means you must:
- Not get wet
- Have all your layers working right
- Keep a steady pace (no long breaks)
Trail conditions may require both snowshoes and microspikes.
If conditions allow it (and we can bear it) we might go sledding/light stoves/make ~cold~ hot cocoa/melt cheese.
There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting on Thursday at 5:45pm at the MITOC office.
Again, this trip will be cold, so only sign up if you'll be prepared for it!
