- Prior winter hiking experience of 8+miles/2800ft+
We're going to hike Mt Moosilauke the LONG and SNOWY way. We'll be taking the Asquam Ridge Trail for a hike of about 12miles with 3000 feet elevation gain. Expect to break trail through the snow, and potentially climb under, over, and around blowdowns!
The last stretch and summit are above treeline with possibility for strong, cold winds. Everyone will need to have been on at least one previous Winter School hike and be very comfortable managing layers, have your packing and systems down, and be able to fully cover all skin.
Prerequisites: Prior winter hiking experience of at least 8miles with 2500 feet of elevation gain, ideally some winter above-treeline experience, stoke for some level of suffering (trail-breaking is an adventure! But you will have the most fun if you like that fun in the Type 2 flavor).
Logistics: We will have a mandatory pre-trip meeting this Thursday at 6pm outside the MITOC office.
Costs: Please budget for a $5 trip fee, $30–50 for carpooling costs, any personal gear rentals (capped at $15), and any food you purchase along the way.

- Do you have a car and are you willing to drive others?
- Do you have any moose-related puns to share? (Building on previous trips here)
