Q: What is President Jefferson's favorite dessert? A: Monte - Jello!

We'll be heading to the Northern Presidentials for some awesome above treeline hiking and an even more awesome overnight! Plan to leave Boston Saturday morning to drive up to Adams. We'll have a short but steep hike up to Gray Knob Cabin via Lowes Path where we'll plan to spend the night eating great food, drinking hot chocolate, and playing games. After a solid night sleep, we'll continue up the Lowes Path Sunday morning to the top of Adams and will then make our way to to the summit of Jefferson and back down. The total trip distance will be just over 12.5 miles.

This will be a strenuous hike, but is great for anyone interested in learning the basics of overnight camping. We'll be sleeping in a heated cabin ("heated" being up for interpretation - less than 40 degrees F). We will practice using camping stoves, melting snow, and reviewing ice axe and crampon techniques. Please note: sleeping in the cabin will cost $15 per person.

Everyone come prepared with your best presidential dad jokes!
