- Prerequisites
- Must know how top rope belay and layer clothing properly.
We will be ice climbing at Kinsman notch (or potentially Flume Gorge, TBD based on conditions, but likely Kinsman) on Sunday. We will meet at 8 am at the parking lot.
The weather looks pretty cold - high of 23F and cloudy - so please bring proper layers, mittens, warm drinks, hand warmers, thick wool socks, etc. Ice climbing is a lot of standing around and belaying so you will get cold.
You must have experience top rope belaying. There is a mandatory pre-trip meeting Thursday evening, after which we will help you rent/fit boots, crampons, ice axes, and helmets.
Please make sure your lottery driving preferences are correct (i.e., do not mark yourself as driver if you are not able to drive others) - we will need 2 drivers for this trip.
