This trip will be an intro to winter hiking in the White Mountains! Mount Israel is one of New Hampshire's 52 with a View and we'll hopefully have a clear day with gorgeous views from the top, including Squam Lake and some of the taller mountains in the Sandwich Range.
The hike is 4.2 miles and 1800 ft of elevation gain. We'll hike at a comfortable pace. This is a great introduction to winter hiking if you have a bit of 3-season experience.

It will likely be very cold on Sunday - we'll need to pay close attention to layering and staying warm. Our mandatory pre trip meeting will be at 9 pm on Thursday, January 9th in the common area of the 4th floor of the Student Center (same floor as the MITOC office).
Remember to update your car/driver status in “Lottery preferences” on your MITOC profile!
