We want to encourage leaders use the cabin during winter school, and to run official MITOC winter trips that start or end at the cabin. For this reason, there will be two training sessions in Nov and Dec for returning leaders and active club members. This session will happen Saturday Dec 13th (Or potentially Friday Dec 12th if that works better for folks)
Only winter school leaders who led at minimum two winterschool trips in 2025 and have an active winterschool rating for 2026 may sign up for this training. This requirement is fairly flexible, but you must have made similar time contributions to the club (via 3S trips, BoD positions etc), please note in the sign up. Sign ups are currently fcfs but I'll be shuffling the order to give priority to folks who have led more trips/ volunteered more time.
Unlike typical cabin trainings, this one will take place in the evening and there will be no workday component. This training will run more like leader retreat, where everyone goes off to do their own thing during the day. We will meet at the cabin's parking lot around 6 or 7pm and spend 2-3 hours on the training depending on the group size. You are welcome and encouraged to spend the night at the cabin and make adventure plans for the weekend with your fellow leaders. Let me know if you'd like to bring a +1 who won't be doing the training.
