🐶 Doggo Counter 🐶 : 2

🏃‍♀️ Join us for a chill trail run in the Middlesex Fells and stick around for food and vibes! We’ll run about 4-7 miles, likely in a ~4mi group and a ~6-7mi group. Both routes will be no-drop runs, but we plan to run at a pace similar to 9-10 min/mi on the roads (likely 11-12 min/mi on the trails).

🐏 We’ll meet at Upper Sheepfold Parking Lot, ready to run at 9:30 am. Exact routes TBD and will be shared closer to the event!

🥐 After the run (~10:45), we’ll hang out for some post-run snacks and warm beverages, courtesy of MITOC!

Transportation

🚲 We highly encourage biking, which is often faster than driving! If you don't have a bike, there are nearby blue bike stations. You can also take public transportation/lyft.

🚗 We’ll try to facilitate transportation to/from the Fells but cannot guarantee rides. We often (but not always) have enough cars for everyone needing a ride. Please include your info on the Rideshare Sheet if you are interested in carpooling.

Prerequisites

This trip should have something for everyone! Trail runners of all experience levels are welcome (even if that experience level is none)! This can be a great first trail run, but you should be in good physical (i.e. cardio) shape and have some hiking experience. As a rough guideline, you should:

  • Be comfortable running 4+ miles on flat road at 9-10 min/mi (have done so in last 3 months)
  • Have done a hike with at least 1k ft elevation gain in the last 6 months
  • If you don’t satisfy the prereqs, you’re welcome to sign up anyways, but please email the leaders describing your recent running experience and fitness routine, so we can make sure this is the right trip for you!

What to bring

Make sure you bring the following:

  • Your phone
  • What you’ve worn in the past for running in similar conditions
  • Water (can be left in car)
  • Dry/warm layers for post-run hang (optional, can be left in car)

Furry Friends

Oreo & Yogi 🐶, the stars of this trip, will be joining (leashed) for one of the runs and the social afterwards. If you are uncomfortable around dogs, please reach out to the trip leaders; there will be dog-free runs as well. You're also welcome to bring your own dog (leashed), but please reach out to the trip leaders first describing how your dog handles runs, groups of people, and other dogs.
