We'll be hiking Mt. Isolation, a 4,000-footer in the Whites, this Sunday (and Boott Spur, a 5,000-footer that’s not on the list). Boott Spur is above treeline and has amazing views of the Presidential Range. If we only have one driver sign up, we’ll switch to an out-and-back from one of the trailheads.
Route: 12–13 miles with ~5,000 ft of elevation gain. Map is here.
Logistics: We’ll leave Cambridge/Boston at 5:00 AM, with a quick Dunkin’ stop on the way. There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting on Thursday at 6 PM, and I’ll follow up with more details over email.
Pre-requisites: At least one hike in the past 6 months that’s 10+ miles with 3,000–4,000 ft of elevation gain. This shouldn’t be your first hike in the Whites. It’s not winter yet, but it’ll be cold above treeline, so bring proper layers. We’ll aim for moderate to fast pace with minimal breaks
