3-season hiking
Type
Hiking
Trip date
Sunday, June 1st, 2025
Difficulty rating
Moderate (L3)
Prerequisites
Hiking boots or trail runners (not sneakers). Physical condition for a hike of this length and elevation gain.

Join a hike Sunday to Mt. Hayes, one of the NH 52-with-a-view peaks, with views down to the town of Gorham and the Androscroggin River, and Mt. Adams and Mt. Madison beyond that, and in other directions to the Carter Range and into the Caribou-Speckled Mountain Wilderness region of Maine!

Route: 7.2 miles, 2200 ft. gain, via a segment of the Appalachian Trail.

There'll be no pre-trip meeting, but you should have the usual gear, including warm layers and a waterproof jacket, in case of light rain - a spreadsheet with more details will be shared with participants who sign up.

We'll leave Cambridge at 8am and plan to stop for a quick breakfast along the drive up, and we'll hike at a comfortable pace.

If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the lottery preferences on your MITOC profile to show this.

(This trip is intended for people coming from Cambridge, not for people at May Circus.)
