Join us for a hike of North and South Kinsman this Sunday! Situated near scenic Franconia Notch, our route will take us past Lonesome Lake and should yield some great views from a lookout point near one of our two summits. In case you're keeping track, we'll also be bagging two of New Hampshire's 4000-footers!

This weekend will be chilly with a chance of precipitation, so we'll need to be prepared with appropriate clothing, including layers. We'll have a mandatory pre-trip meeting at the MIT Student Center this Thursday at 6:30 PM, during which you'll also have an opportunity to rent some of the hiking gear you'll need.

Our route will be around 9 miles out and back with 3320' elevation gain, so ideally you've had relatively recent experience with hikes of similar difficulty in any season. Expect to depart from Cambridge early in the morning so we arrive at the trailhead with lots of daylight for hiking.

We will need a driver for this trip. Please update your car status for the lottery if you can drive others (including if you are willing to rent). We will be evenly splitting driving costs (rental/gas/maintenance) using MITOC's car cost calculator after the trip.
