Beginner and intermediate top rope ice climbing. The only requirements are:
- You can belay with a tubular style belay device (Like an ATC and not a gri-gri)
- You have attended the winter safety lectures
- You are comfortable with your layering system (standing around belaying is way colder than hiking).
There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting at the Mitoc Office on Thursday at 6pm mostly so that we can check out gear and make sure everything fits.
Location is to be decided. Probably the easiest to access location that has some quality ice. The weather Wednesday and Thursday will be damaging a lot of ice but it should stabilize on Friday and then we'll know how far a field we have to travel to find some top rope-able Ice to play with.
Once we get there we will start the trip with a short instructional session for anyone who is a complete beginner. Then we can just have fun until WSC calls us home.

- Notes
- What is your top rope belaying experience? What devices have you used? Gym certified?
- Do you have experience dressing for standing around in the cold? Not hiking, standing around.
- Any ice climbing experience?
