Get your freak on and join us on a claw-some hike to Kinsman Falls via the Basin Cat-scades Trail! This paws-itively delightful trek in the Franconia region is 2.3 miles out and back, with 600-700 ft elevation gain (or 2.9 mi if we make it a loop)—just right for working up an appetite before our meow-nificent feast beside bubbling frozen waterfalls.

We’ll be hauling a truly excessive about of stuff- a table, tablecloth, folding chairs (perhaps), goblets, silverware, and, of course, a Fancy Feast into the wilderness so we can enjoy a multi-course meal in the comfort of the great outdoors! If you enjoy hauling large numbers of bizarre things into the woods, want to wear a tie over your winter layers, or need more cat-chy photos of yourself doing something freaky, this adventure is for you!

To set up our purrfect dinner party, we'll practice hauling gear on sleds, like you would see on a longer mountaineering expedition. Expect to carry a heavy pack- we have no access to a kittchen nor cat-ering. We’ll also have chances to practice setting up stoves and outdoor cooking techniques.

In the past, these parties included hors d'oeuvres, multiple soup and entree courses, sparkling cider, freshly-torched crème brûlée, fresh flowers, and more—help us raise the bar even higher! This will be pot-luck style, so everyone should plan on contributing food/supplies. There will be a mandatory pre-trip meow-ting (hybrid) at MIT, 5:30pm on Thursday.

We need drivers! Consider renting or signing up if you can drive.
