  • Answer all the questions in the Notes Section.

Are you interested in picking up a new outdoor hobby this winter? Or just looking for a fun way to stay active and enjoy the season? MITOC wants to help you learn how to ski or snowboard! By joining a supportive cohort, you’ll build a community of friends, learn from expert instructors, and have plenty of chances to practice throughout the season. To make this happen, MITOC is coordinating access to the Pat’s Peak Learn to Ski/Snowboard Passport Program. For $669, you’ll get:

  1. four ski or snowboard lessons,

  2. Rental Equipment for the lessons

  3. a pair of skis (or a snowboard) with bindings at the end of the program,

  4. a season pass for continued visits after the program concludes

Learn about the Passport Program: https://www.patspeak.com/plan-your-visit/lessons-rentals/lesson-rates-packages/

Note: MITOC doesn’t run the Learn to Ski program (Pats Peak does!). MITOC will help coordinate rideshares and logistics, though the success of these trips depends on driver availability and participant interest. Ideally we'd like at least 12-20 folks to do the program. If we don't hit that interest level we won't run it, but hopefully we will!

Pat’s Peak is located about 90 minutes from Boston, making it one of the closest full-service ski resorts to the city. While it’s a beginner-friendly mountain, it offers diverse terrain that allows you to gradually develop your skills. It also has excellent snowmaking, so conditions are reliable throughout the winter season (January–March).

Proposed trip dates would be on 4 consecutive Sundays: January 12, 19, 26 and February 2. We can have additional days depending on interest. Please plan to leave Boston/Cambridge by 6:30am and return at 6:30pm.

Participation in this program is separate from the WS program. You DO need to have an active MITOC membership (waiver + membership up to date). You DO NOT need to participate in the mandatory WS lectures to do this program. If you do choose to participate in the Winter School program in addition to the Pat's Peak program you must attend the mandatory lectures and only sign up for trips that do not run on Sunday.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email Sai!
