Prerequisites
Some hiking experience, preferably of similar length/elevation; know how to layer properly. Previous winter experience helpful but not required.

Join us for a loop trail up Mt. Jackson, on to Webster and back down! This is an approximately 6.4 mile hike with about ~2,400 ft of elevation gain. You can find out more in the trail map (also here).

Mt. Jackson (4052 ft) is in the southern Presidential Range and although this is a B terrain hike (below treeline), the summit is exposed (for about half a mile). Following the loop trail, we'll also summit Mt. Webster, which sits next to Jackson and is listed as one of the 52 mountains with a spectacular view over the cliff ;)

According to the weather forecast, it will not snow on Sunday but it will be windy, so make sure you have solid layering and proper facial covering, especially for the exposed part. We'll be carrying microspikes and possibly snowshoes (depending to the latest weather report). There will be a pre-trip meeting on Thursday at 9pm (after the WS Lectures) at the MITOC Gear Office, where we can also rent equipment.

Be prepared to leave early in the morning, so that we get enough daytime for a ~7h hike, and bring your snacks! We'll be parking near AMC Highland Center at Crawford Notch to reach the trailhead.
