Prerequisites
Ice climbing experience OR winter outdoor experience + outdoor rock climbing experience; solid top rope belaying skills

Beginner/Intermediate ice climbing for both those new to ice climbing and those who have ice climbed before. We will go over ice climbing basics at the start of the trip. Decided later this week we will either go to Arethusa Falls or Cathedral Ledge in the white mountains. For both we will set up some top ropes to climb. There is a ~1.5 mile hike into Arethusa Falls/

The weather in North Conway will be hovering around freezing (32F), overcast with a slight chance of snow. Ice climbing involves minimum 50% standing around belaying, so try to bring a mega puffy and wear your typical WS layers (wool socks, base layer, mid layer, puffy, windbreaker, a mega puffy if you have it, and mittens). Thicker liner gloves are also useful for ice climbing because you will want warmth but not at the expensive of dexterity.

Our pre-trip meeting will be Thursday at 6pm. Please be prepared to check out gear at the office (i.e., have your collateral checks or frequent flier checks ready). You will need a helmet, harness, mountaineering boots, front-point crampons, ice tools, and belay device). Feel free to email us with any questions.
