Do you like setting things on fire? Are you an exhausted student that does not want to wake up at 5am? Not sure if you really have the right clothes for spending an entire day outside in the cold? Like making and/or eating food? Well, we have the perfect activity for you!

Come join us for a lazy Saturday lunch-time skills practice that doesn't start until 11am and never even leaves campus! We will be teaching people how to safely use the classic MSR whisperlight mountaineering stoves (part of MITOCs safety gear) without setting ourselves and everything around us on fire, looking at some fail-proof fire starter options, practicing making hot chocolate (and maybe some ramen) with our new stove skills, eating lunch, and helping people evaluate their layering system by standing around in the cold while it is snowing (or possibly raining). Bring something fun to eat and share and we’ll picnic it up outside the Student Center, MITOC-style!
