Why wake up for a 5am hike when you can sleep in and drink hot chocolate? Come join us for a chocolatey beginner-friendly trip in the Boston area, in the Blue Hills Reservation (~30 min drive from Cambridge). We will practice winter layering, review the triangle of happiness, and learn how to use a camping stove.
Time permitting, we may swing by the Blue Hill Observatory. A National Historic Landmark, this observatory is the oldest continuously-operating weather observatory in the United States!
A mandatory in-person pre-trip meeting will be held at 6pm (before the Winter School lecture) on Thursday, January 9 on the 4th floor of the Student Center (near the MITOC office).
