We'll be taking the commuter rail from North Station (departing at 8:30am) to Beverly Farms and hiking in the Beverly Commons!

Once we get to Beverly Farms, it's expected to be a short (under 10 min) walk to the trail-head. The trail is expected to be a ~5 mile, 2-3 hour loop with about a 163m elevation gain in the Beverly Commons.

Alexia's very lovely and extremely friendly pet dog will also join! Please make note and also let us know if you have any allergies or concerns.

If folks are excited, we will also stop for a hot beverage somewhere in Beverly! We'll then take the Commuter Rail back to Cambridge.

Not much winter hiking experience required, but participants are still required to bring all winter attire: all layers, backpack, winter hiking boots and micro-spikes. Participants can rent micro-spikes from the MIT office if they don't own them already.

Likely trail: Common Hill Outer Loop on AllTrails https://www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/us/massachusetts/common-hill-outer-loop?sh=eolgzi&u=m

Mandatory pre-trip meeting before the Thursday MITOC WS lecture, where you can also rent gear. We'll send the exact time and place in advance.
