Route: 19 Brook Trail to Zeta Pass to Carter Dome.
Link to map is here.
We will be hiking 9.5 miles and 3300' elevation gain with a possible addition of South Carter Mountain for a total of 11 miles and 3800' of elevation gain.
Pace: We expect participants to be capable of maintaining a moderate pace (1.5 mph). We will take quick and efficient breaks
Logistics: There is a mandatory pre-trip meeting on Thursday at 6pm to discuss the trip. We will leave Cambridge at 0530 on Sunday for the hike. We will stop at the Miss Wakefield Diner on route in Wakefield, NH. The departure trailhead is the Nineteen Mile Brook Trailhead.
Prerequisites: Attended a past winter school safety lecture, or have been a MITOC winter leader. Familiar with use of micro spikes and snowshoes (or willing to stay after the pre-trip meeting to get familiarized!). If you are unable to sign-up, please let email one of the leaders.
If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the lottery preferences on your MITOC profile to show this.
