What is this?!
How long will it take for the club to collectively hike all 48 four thousand footers in NH (starting in October)? This weekend, we embark on part 1, and venture to see how many we can hike before winter conditions hit!
Which mountain(s)?
The Wildcats! We'll aim to hit Wildcats A, B, C, and D! Not all the peaks have a lot of prominence, so only A and D count for hiking four thousand footers.
Route
Not finalized yet, but will likely look something like this. It's about 8.3 miles and about 2800 feet of elevation gain.
When/weather
We're eyeing Saturday or Sunday. If it's just light rain in the morning, we'll hike Saturday (Rain jacket/pants and water resistant shoes recommended for health and happiness). If it gets much wetter, we'll go Sunday. The current forecast.
Pre-trip Meeting
Mandatory pre-trip meeting on Thursday night, 9pm, over zoom. Link to be distributed after the lottery.
Prerequisites
Feel comfortable hiking about 8.5 miles with about 3k feet of elevation gain (14km of distance and 1km of gain). This is on the hard side of a medium-difficulty trip.
