Join us on a trip up Mount Wachusett! This is one of the most popular hikes near Boston, and there should be some nice views. Conveniently, the trail is only a one hour drive away from Boston. The hike will include 3 miles of hiking and about 800 feet of elevation gain, and the route can be found here: https://www.alltrails.com/ar/trail/us/massachusetts/wachusett-mountain-via-harrington-trail
As part of our back-to-school initiative, current students are especially encouraged to sign up, but there will be no lottery since the trip is so close, so it is first come, first served. More spots will be opened up if we get a second driver, so if the trip is full feel free to add yourself to the waitlist, and if you have a car or are able to rent one, update your lottery preferences to reflect this!
We will leave Saturday morning (not too early!) and be back in the early-mid afternoon, but exact details will be ironed out at the pre-trip meeting. We’ll have a mandatory pre-trip meeting on zoom tomorrow (Friday) at 5:30pm. Since this is after all MITOC office hours for the week, reach out to me if you are not sure you have the appropriate gear for this trip so we can make sure you get it rented!
Required gear: -Hiking boots/trail runners (not rentable) -Appropriate hiking clothing (not rentable) -Rain-proof jacket -Backpack -Whistle -Compass -Headlamp (available for purchase) -Food -Water
