Do you want to lead hikes with us this summer and autumn? In order to become a 3-Season Hiking Leader or Co-Leader, you should attend one of our monthly 3S Safety & Training seminars:
The August seminar will be on Tuesday, August 6th at 6.30PM - 7.30PM in person in MIT 2-190 with a Zoom option available (https://mit.zoom.us/j/91769760103). There will be pizza for those who attend in person and potentially a trip planning social in the same room after the training!
To become a 3-season co-leader with MITOC you will need to:
Have participated in at least 2 official MITOC hiking trips
Submit an application at mitoc-trips.mit.edu/hiking/leaders/apply
Attend a 3-season hiking Safety & Training Seminar
You can move from a co-leader to full leader status after leading 2 hikes as co-leader and receiving upgrade recommendations from full leaders on these trips. We will also assign full-leader status on a case-by-case evaluation of previous outdoor leadership expertise, including your leader rating from Winter School, if applicable.
